Plaguestorm

PLAGUESTORM is a studio project founded by Sebastián Pastor in early 2014 in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.
Currently, the project boasts four album releases and numerous guest musicians from around the world.
Their first release was a 5-song EP called "Everything's Gone Wrong", which was independently released on October 1, 2015, in digital and CD formats. For this EP, Sebastián wrote all the music and lyrics, and it features Diego Martínez (Nacer Muerto) as a session guitarist and vocals from Björn Strid (Soilwork) and Ryan Strain (Recode the Subliminal).
Their second album and first full-length release, "Mother of Plagues", was independently released on October 11, 2019. The work on this album was longer, more difficult, and more ambitious. Seba wrote all the music, most of the lyrics, and recorded all the instruments. He also handled the mixing and mastering. The album featured numerous guest musicians, including Mikael Sehlin (Engel / Degradead), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Fabio Bartoletti (Fleshgod Apocalypse), Ken Romlin (Night Crowned), Rodrigo Plasencia (Bolo / Undermine), Diego Martinez (Nacer Muerto), Pablo Román (Sobre Tus Cenizas), and Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski (Eroica). All of them contributed great ideas, taking Plaguestorm's music to a new level.
Months after the release of Mother of Plagues, the album reached the ears of Patrick Walch, founder of the German record label NOBLE DEMON. After several conversations, Walch offered Sebastián a contract to reissue his earlier work and release a new album. This album, titled “Purifying Fire”, was released on June 4, 2021, by Noble Demon in both digital and physical formats (CD Digipak). For this album, Plaguestorm once again features Mikael Sehlin on vocals, this time on all tracks, along with contributions from Pablo Román and Diego Martínez on all guitar solos. Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski also contributes a beautiful orchestral arrangement to the title track, “Purifying Fire.”
The latest work was released on October 20, 2023. It is a three-song EP called “Empty Eyes”. This EP features Eugene Ryabchenko (Fleshgod Apocalypse) on drums, Okko Solanterä (Horizon Ignited) on vocals, and Diego Martínez (Nacer Mverto) on guitar solos. This is perhaps the most extreme material released to date, where blast beats, aggressive vocals, and sharp guitars abound, but always with a dose of melody.

PLAGUESTORM es un proyecto de estudio fundado por Sebastián Pastor a principios de 2014, en la ciudad de Bahía Blanca, Argentina.
En la actualidad el proyecto cuenta con cuatro lanzamientos discográficos y un monton de musicos invitados de diferentes lugares del planeta.
El primero lanzamiento fue un EP de 5 canciones llamado "Everything’s Gone Wrong”, que vio la luz de manera independiente el 01 de octubre de 2015 en formato digital y CD. Para este EP Sebastián escribió toda la música y las letras y cuenta con la participación de Diego Martínez (Nacer Muerto) como guitarrista de sesión y las voces de Björn Strid (Soilwork) y Ryan Strain (Recode the Subliminal).
El segundo trabajo y primer larga duración, fue llamado "Mother of Plagues", y fue lanzado de manera independiente el 11 de octubre de 2019, el trabajo para este álbum fue más largo, difícil y ambicioso, Seba escribió toda la música, la mayoría de las liricas y grabó todos los instrumentos, también se encargó de la mezcla y masterización. Para este álbum hubo muchos músicos invitados, Mikael Sehlin (Engel / Degradead), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Fabio Bartoletti (Fleshgod Apocalypse), Ken Romlin (Night Crowned), Rodrigo Plasencia (Bolo / Undermine), Diego Martinez (Nacer Muerto), Pablo Román (Sobre Tus Cenizas) y Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski (Eroica), todos contribuyeron con grandes ideas para que la música de Plaguestorm de un nuevo paso al frente.
A meses de ser lanzado Mother of Plagues, el álbum llegó a oídos de Patrick Walch, fundador del sello discográfico alemán NOBLE DEMON, quien luego de varias conversaciones le ofreció a Sebastián firmar un contrato para la re-edicion de los primeros trabajos y para lanzar un nuevo álbum, este álbum fue llamado “Purifying Fire” y fue lanzado el 04 de junio de 2021 por Noble Demon en formato digital y físico (CD Digipack). Para este álbum, Plaguestorm cuenta una vez más con la participación de Mikael Sehlin en la voz, pero esta vez en todas las canciones, más la colaboración de Pablo Román y Diego Martínez en todos los solos de guitarra. Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski también participa agregando un maravilloso arreglo orquestal para la canción que da nombre al disco, "Purifying Fire".
El utlimo trabajo fue lanzado el 20 de Octubre de 2023, se trata de un EP de tres canciones llamado “Empty Eyes”, este EP cuenta con la participación de Eugene Ryabchenko (Fleshgod Apocalypse) en la batería, Okko Solanterä (Horizon Ignited) en las voces y Diego Martínez (Nacer Mverto) en solos de guitarra, este es tal vez el material mas extremo lanzado hasta el momento, donde abundan los blast beats, las voces agresivas y las guitarras afiladas, pero siempre con una cuota de melodía.
